Oh baby! It’s cold outside!

It’s been snowing like crazy here in New York and very cold so I wanted something totally delicious to warm me up, quench my sweet tooth, and make me happy. I came up with this 3 ingredient treat from the items I already had on hand (who wants to go shopping in a snow storm?!).

This hot chocolate can be made with whole milk or hemp milk depending on your dietary needs. It’s low in sugar and has enough fat in it to fill you up and keep you satisfied with very little. The dark chocolate is full of antioxidants and the peanut butter is high is protein and healthy fats. I prefer whole milk instead of low or no fat so there is no added sugar and so my body really recognizes the food in its natural state (there is no fat free milk in nature). Hemp milk is a great vegan alternative that still tastes amazing. I buy unsweetened organic vanilla hemp milk. Hemp is a very nutritious food that contains all 9 essential amino acids and is a great source of vegan protein!

This treat is savory, sweet, super delicious, and taste test approved by my Fiancé!

Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce dark chocolate (preferably organic and look for at least 70% cocoa content)
  • 1 cup organic whole milk or unsweetened vanilla hemp milk
  • 1 teaspoon organic unsweetened peanut butter

Add all ingredients to a pot on low heat (2 to 4 on a dial of 10) and stir continuously until all ingredients are evenly combined and turned to liquid. Do not cook on high heat because it will burn the milk and taste icky!
